Brei — Solids

Gewicht: 7,2 kg

The little man is not all that keen on feeding lately, in particular he does not like to be held during feeding and wiggles around like a hyperactive worm, making every feed a challenge. As a consequence it is hard to get any decent amount of milk into him, so he hardly ever gets enough and keeps getting hungrier (and angrier), getting himself into such a state of despair (and screaming) that one does not know what to do. A spate of nights with interrupted sleep (mainly Thea's sleep due to constant feeding demands..., sorry hon!) reminds us of how things were right at the start during the first few weeks of Willem's arrival. Exhaustion! The health advisor at the "baby clinic" suggested to start weaning him. Bit of solids might do the trick and so he has had the first few spoonfuls of baby rice and similar stuff. At this point, the homeopathic amounts that he eats will hardly make a difference. Anyway, he is clearly intrigued by this new experience and we find it quite amusing at the moment.

The stats:
Length: 69 cm
Weight: 7.2 kg, 1 stone and 1.9 lbs

  1. Try 'The Wonder Weeks' by some Dutch scientists. It really helps to explain the funny phases and explain that they are in fact key brain development periods....pretty interesting for us geeky scientists and this sounds like a funny phase to me :).
    Loving the blog.
